Isaiah 9:6 it says "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be wonderful counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace"
Here I am thinking almost 100% of the time about myself and forgetting that it was never about me in the 1st place.
I came across this video on one of my friend's Facebook updates. It didn't hit me the 1st time I watched it but after a 2nd look, I realised it.
Kunle, a guy from Coventry university went to Brazil to do the work of God, but died a few days later after drowning in the amazon river. It's really sad but the one thing that struck me was the fact that throughout his days, he chose to be about Christ.
Luke 2: 41-49 talks about Jesus at the age of 12 staying behind in the temple to teach and to learn more about his Father through communicating with the doctors.
Stressing on vs 49, "....How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?".
I find that this is connected to Kunle indirectly, for as a young man, he could have chosen to go to Brazil for so many reasons, e.g just to have "fun", yet he chose to be there for the sole purpose of doing God's work.
Christ said in Mark 16:15 "And He said unto them, Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature".
Matthew 28:19 refers to the same message "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost"
Just recently, I've been thinking about wanting to travel to many places, yet in none of those thoughts did it occur in my mind that I would go there for the work of God. This comes back to me thinking about myself and my needs almost 100% of the time. Rather selfish but Thank God my eyes are Opened now. I will go when God says I should go. That way it won't be a vain reason. Now I know that I'd want to die doing the work of God than for anything else as recorded in Philipians 1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Thought I should do a blog update with the little break I've managed to have... Unfortunately, I've been so busy this final year. I find myself doing something almost every day so I haven't even had time to just chill...
Handed in one of my reports yesterday and have got 3 more to go before leaving for christmas...Slightly dreading the whole process of getting them done...as usual lol...Oh my!!...Anyway, I wrote about "hard work" a while ago and I thought I should do a little update on my progress. I tried to get my uni work done a few days before my deadline but to be honest it did not work out as planned and I ended up staying up all night to finish it off. How bad! But I'm glad I tried at least. Hopefully my efforts will be fruitful, because like the ant I tried to work hard (at least i think i did).
So I'm about to start a new one today. Been feeling a bit drained from the my late night sleep and from too much computer use; all bcz of my work but it's all good. Let's hope it all works out for good - Romans 8:28
With regards to my hair, I twisted it on the 28th of september and I still have it in. Not enough time to take it out atm. But I'm hoping to take it out in december and do a fresh "genie loc/yarn braids" since I want to protect my hair throughout this winter as I never really do. But so far, I've just washed it twice with my head&shoulders shampoo+conditioner, as the sulfur 8 wasn't really doing me any good with regards to the dandruff. I've seen better progress with this one so yh...<3 it....

I'm going back to university by the end of this week...it's my final year and so far I've been thinking of how fast its all passed me by...well nearly.
Last year I thought to myself, "i'm gonna work so hard that I get a "1st" each time in my reports...well it happened once and then everything changed..."went downhill" is the wrong statement to use in this instant coz it depicts that I have been ungrateful for how far the Lord has brought me...so I guess i won't use that phrase....because I am very very thankful at the same time
Anyway we're going back as i said and I keep thinking of how I'm going to achieve my goal this time though it's a completely different circumstance....well maybe....in that I've got to work, while I do an extra module from the previous year plus those for the new year & other extra curricular activities...
It seems rather daunting writing it down but I'm just hoping that just as always I'll take it one day at a time and of course seek the Lord in it all coz that's where my strength comes from ...always!!...

So my new goals for this year are;
1. Better time management
2. Day apart each week for studies
3. Plan days around fun, studies + work and not just go with the flow (unplanned)
4. Develop myself more
I think 4 is enough for now. So i'll see how I cope with these goals from next week. God willing I'll be able to achieve them with time....:-)
So I was reading Texttextiles's update on " Emili Sande...walk away" and it was a song that talks about relationships and knowing when to let go and move on... I didn't really pay attention to the song but all I remember is this comment. So I just thought of the times that we have wanted certain things to happen so badly especially in relationships/ friendships so we go the extra mile even when the other person does not seem to care as much. So there is me sitting there thinking, "I guess I need to let go now and move on". But then I watch lauryn Hill's Speech and she makes a slight comment about serving others and Loving others even when we do not recieve anything back which Christ has already made clear but i guess sometimes we or maybe I forget. So basically, the time that we show true love is when we love others regardless of them not paying attention or acting like they care ....or whatever else they may do.
So the MORALE of the Story is "LOVE one another REGARDLESS....:-)

So i wz thinkn of ideas 4 my next update & i asked a friend 4 ideas. He suggested dat i talk about Zechariah 4:6 "then he answered and spake unto me saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord" ....a conversation between an angel of the Lord and Joshua....
I learnt earlier dat as a christian I need to apply the word of God to my life in a practical way. So here goes
Recently went 4 a job interview. Had tried previously 2 get a job but it never worked. So dis time, i jst assumed it wz 1 of da random applications. Got a call back & b4 i knew it, i had done a phone interview & just finished a face-to-face interview last friday. Still waiting 4 da final response. Although certain things seem a bit blurry, I know that through it all God is my Guide
And here is where Zechariah 4:6 applies...dat through it all, it's never been by my strength nor by my power but by the spirit of the Lord that is able to sustain.
I am grateful dat these past few weeks God has been my help in every thing...He is always behind the scenes working even when I forget to acknowledge His presence at times..
Was just thinking of ways to earn some money this summer and my sister and I decided that we will establish a business...lol (that's what we say every summer)...But anyway this video talks about "how to manage your money" so as to not end up establishing a business "with your mouth" each time you go broke like myself and my sister (http://texttextiles.blogspot.com/) lol...
